Eyüp Ümit Özkalp (born April 30, 1959 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish soccer player and today's coach .

Player career

Özkalp began his career in the late 1970s with third division club İstanbulspor . After just one season, the striker left Istanbulspor and joined Galatasaray Istanbul . For the yellow-reds Özkalp played in the league games against Eskişehirspor (August 24, 1980) and Altay Izmir (May 25, 1981)

For the 1981/82 season Özkalp moved to Adana Demirspor . In the first three years at Adana Demirspor, Özkalp was one of the supplementary players. At the end of the 1983/84 season Adana Demirspor rose to the 2nd division . This failure should make Özkalp a regular player. From then on he played as a regular player until the end of his career for Demirspor in 308 league games and scored 35 goals. Furthermore, the striker was second division champion in the 1986/87 and 1990/91 seasons.

Coaching career

Özkalp has been working as a trainer since 1995. He started out as an assistant coach at Adana Demirspor . In 2014 he became the coach of the second team of İstanbulspor. Özkalp made his first experience as head coach at Halide Edip Adıvarspor and most recently at Erbaaspor .
