ČT3 is the name of two different Czech television stations operated by Česká televize . In the years 1993-1994 a program was broadcast under this name, which was composed mainly of international news content. Since March 23, 2020, in the course of the COVID-19 pandemic , a (temporary) program has been broadcasting under this name, primarily broadcasting archive content.

1993-1994

Emergence

After the Velvet Revolution , a new program was set up in the Czech Republic on the frequencies of a former Soviet broadcasting chain, OK3 (in Slovakia broadcast a similar program called TA3 (1991-1992) ), which after the break-up of Czechoslovakia on January 1, 1993 in ČT3 was renamed.

program

Mainly foreign news programs were broadcast. For example, the following programs were taken over:

In addition, series premieres and reruns were broadcast on other ČT channels.

Succession

On February 4, 1994 the station ČT3 was set. Now the program ČT2 was broadcasting on its frequencies, which freed the original transmission slot for ČT2. The first private television in the Czech Republic, TV Nova , began broadcasting there.

On August 31, 2013, the new children's channel ČT: D went on air, whose working name had been ČT3.

2020

In the course of the COVID-19 pandemic , information programs and school television were increasingly broadcast on the main Česká televize channels. A new, temporary program, ČT3, has been made available to ensure adequate entertainment for seniors as well. Since the ČT imposed a production stop, the funds for this new station became available. He has been broadcasting since March 23, 2019, 9 a.m. Following the example of the Slovak broadcaster RTVS: 3 ("Trojka"), archive content and repetitions of the main news broadcast from the previous day are broadcast between 9:00 and 17:25.

Sent content
