İhlas Yayın Holding ( İhlas Media Holding) is a Turkish media company based in Istanbul .

history

The media group emerged from the daily newspaper Türkiye , which was founded in 1972 by the entrepreneur Enver Ören (1936–2013) and which became one of the highest-circulation newspapers in Turkey in the late 1980s. In 1993, Ören's various companies were merged under the umbrella of İhlas Holding . In 2003 the media division was organized in the İhlas Yayın Holding.

The Türkiye has followed a conservative - Islamic line since it was founded ; Today the İhlas media are considered to be close to the Justice and Recovery Party (AKP) and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan .

Ownership

İhlas Holding holds 49.71 percent of the shares in the stock corporation . Ahmet Mücahid Ören, CEO and son of the company founder, holds 1.85 percent, his wife Ayşe Dilvin Ören 0.25 percent. 48.19 percent are in free float. The parent company is now active outside the media industry in the construction , real estate and energy sectors.

In addition to the daily newspaper Türkiye, İhlas Yayın Holding includes the news agency İhlas , the English-language monthly business newspaper Made in Turkey , the news channel TGRT Haber , the TGRT-EU broadcasting station in Europe , the documentary channel TGRT Belgesel, the radio station TGRT FM, several magazines and other companies , including a film and television production. Founded in 1993, TGRT was sold to News Corporation by Rupert Murdoch in 2006 and renamed FOX Türkiye the following year .

Advertising paper Post Aktüel

A subsidiary of İhlas Yayın Holding is Goldfeld GmbH, based in Mörfelden-Walldorf , which publishes the free advertising paper Post Aktüel . Post Aktüel appears monthly with special issues for Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries and seven regional issues for Germany (Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Rhine-Main, Rhineland, Ruhr area and Northern Germany). According to the company, the paper will be sent to “200,000 Turkish-speaking households in Europe”.

“İhlas” (in the German spelling of the Arabic word: “Ichlās”) comes from Arabic and means “devotion”, “loyalty”, “sincerity”, “loyalty” and is eponymous for the 112th sura of the Koran . In Islamic theology, this means “the religious attitude of those” who “focus their faith entirely on God”.
