İlham Məmmədov ( English Ilham Mamedov ; born January 1, 1970 ) is a former Azerbaijani football player .

Career

The midfielder İlham Məmmədov began his career at PFK Turan Tovuz and moved to Neftçi Baku in 1995 . With Baku he was twice Azerbaijani champion and once cup winner. In the summer of 1997 he switched to PFK Kəpəz , with whom he was once champion and twice cup winner. In the 1997/98 season Məmmədov returned to Neftçi Baku before moving to Germany . He played in the 1999/2000 season for FSV Salmrohr in the Oberliga Südwest and in the following season for the regional division Eintracht Trier. Since he was rarely used in both stations, he moved in the summer of 2001 to VfB Fichte Bielefeld , who had just been promoted to the Oberliga Westfalen . After six years at VfB Fichte, Məmmədov moved to local rivals TuS Dornberg in the summer of 2006 after Fichte's relegation . Later he was still active for FC Türk Sport Bielefeld , where he was sentenced to a multi-year ban in March 2009 after spat at the referee . At the beginning of the 2010s he let his career at SC Hicret Bielefeld end.
