The İstiqlal Order ( Azerbaijani : “İstiqlal” ordeni , in German: Order of Independence or Order of Independence ) is an order of the Republic of Azerbaijan . When it was introduced in 1993, it was the highest of four orders in the Republic of Azerbaijan ; since 2005 it has been the second highest of ten orders in the republic.
history
On 10 November 1992, confirmed National Assembly of Azerbaijan Decree no. 370 of the second President of Azerbaijan abulfaz elchibey about "the establishment of orders and medals of the Republic of Azerbaijan" ( Azərbaycan Respublikasının orden və medallarının təsis edilməsi haqqında ) with the initial four Orders Istiqlal, Shah İsmayıl , Azərbaycan Bayrağı and Şöhrət . With the Decree No. 754 of the third Azerbaijani President Heydər Əliyev of December 6, 1993 on the “Approval of the Statute and Description of the İstiqlal Order of the Republic of Azerbaijan” ( Azərbaycan Respublikasının “İstiqlal” ) ordeninq the statutunaqilməsirinq was Order officially donated.
The İstiqlal Order received its first revision on February 6th, 1998 by amending decree No. 429-IQD. In 2005 the Heydər Əliyev Order was founded and declared the highest order in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Nothing has changed in the way the İstiqlal order is worn, as the Heydər Əliyev order is worn on the left side of the chest after all other orders and medals of the Republic of Azerbaijan or on the order chain around the neck. With Decree No. 722-IVQD of September 30, 2013, the İstiqlal Order received a revision for the second time.

"1. The 'İstiqlal' Order of the Republic of Azerbaijan is awarded to the citizens of Azerbaijan:
- for an exceptional contribution to the national independence movement of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
- for an excellent service to the state and the people of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
- for a special contribution to the statehood of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
2. The 'İstiqlal' order is worn on the left side of the chest and in the presence of other orders and medals of the Azerbaijan Republic. "
