Əyyub Abbasov
Əyyub jabrayil district oğlu Abbasov ( Russian Эйюб Джебраил оглы Абасов Eijub Djebrail ogly Abassow even Ayyub Abasov , born in 1905 in Şəki . Died 18th December 1957 in Baku ) was a Soviet - Azerbaijani writer .
Life
Abbasov was born into a peasant family and was initially a farm worker . In 1929 he joined the CPSU . He graduated from the Baku Pedagogical Institute in 1932 and began his first publications in the same year while also working for various newspapers. He wrote the poems Ship under a Red Flag (1953), which is dedicated to Soviet aid in India , and A Word of Truth (1953), which is about the exploits of the Brazilian social activist Eliza Branco . His novel Zangezur (2 volumes, 1956/57) describes the struggle of the Azerbaijanis and Armenians for the Soviet Union. He also wrote poems and plays for children, and translated Marsak and Tuwim into Azerbaijani .
