Șoala ( Romanian formerly Șalea ; German Schaal , formerly Schael , Schaalendorf ; Transylvanian-Saxon Schuel , Schuuaal , Hungarian Sálya ) is a locality of the municipality of Axente Sever in the Sibiu district in Transylvania in Romania .

history

The oldest mention of the place is from 1331.

In 1930 816 residents lived here, including 498 Germans, 233 Romanians and 85 Roma. In 2002, out of 314 inhabitants, 301 were Romanians, 8 Germans and 5 Roma.
