ʻOto (also: Ota ) is an uninhabited island in the Tongan archipelago of Vavaʻu .

geography

ʻOto lies together with Aʻa in a bay formed by the islands of Kapa and Nuapapu , a region in the center of Vavaʻu. The islets of Lua'ofa , Nuku and Luakapa are also in the vicinity . The island itself has an egg-shaped-oval plan and is densely forested.

climate

The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Vavaʻu group, ʻOto is occasionally hit by cyclones .
