(1513) Matra is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 10 March 1940 by the Hungarian astronomers György Kulin at Konkoly Observatory in Budapest was discovered.

The name of the asteroid is derived from the Mátra Mountains in northern Hungary, where a branch of the Konkoly Observatory is located.
