1-fluorobutane is a chemical compound from the group of aliphatic , saturated halogenated hydrocarbons .
Extraction and presentation
1-Fluorobutane can be obtained by reacting 1-bromobutane with mercury (II) fluoride or by reacting 1-butanol with 2-chloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethyl) diethylamine . The compound can also be obtained by reacting 1-bromobutane with potassium fluoride in ethylene glycol .

1-fluorobutane is a liquid with a low boiling point that is very soluble in ethanol . The molecule shows a positive charge on the C 2 atom, which comes about through quantum effects.
use
1-fluorobutane can be used to etch semiconductors .
