100 East 53rd Street (also known as 610 Lexington Avenue is known) is a skyscraper in New York City , whose construction started in early 2008 and a few months later was reinstated. Construction resumed at the end of March 2014.
description
The project was first presented in 2005. 100 East 53rd Street is, as the name suggests, on 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue and is in close proximity to the famous Seagram Building (157 meters) and Citigroup Center (279 meters), which are in the district Midtown East . The height of the tower should be 217 meters. The exact arrangement of the floors is currently not known. The building was designed by the world famous architect Norman Foster . Various renderings show an elegant design. The building complex is being developed by RFR Realty and Hines.
At the end of 2012 it was announced that the two contractors Aby Rosen and Michael Fuchs (from RFR Realty LLC) had taken over the rights and the financing of the skyscraper. This means that the construction costs are covered and it is assumed that the construction work will be resumed in 2013 at the latest. Construction should be completed in early 2017.
In March 2013, the team of architects announced the final plans (including renderings) for the new tower. The height as well as the basic shape of the skyscraper should remain the same compared to its predecessor. According to the graphics, the ridge should have its own lighting scheme. A total of 91 residential units are to be built. At the end of February 2014 it was announced that the financing of the tower has been secured and that the foundation work can therefore be continued. The building reached its final height on January 3, 2016.
