description

The design by 1250 René-Lévesque comes from the architects Kohn Pedersen Fox and is similar to the high-rise Westendstrasse 1 in Frankfurt am Main . The skyscraper has a pronounced rectangular floor plan and is elongated in the north-south axis. The eastern and western façades are particularly emphasized. The modernist western facade faces a residential area , with granite-clad walls and square windows. Set-back storeys give the appearance of several superimposed slabs. In contrast, the postmodern east facade facing the business center is dominated by an outwardly arched curtain wall that extends over the southern corner. This creates the impression of a vertical “fin”, which emphasizes the lightness of the structure. The narrow north facade comprises a four-story atrium with a winter garden and a food court in the mezzanine . 1250 René-Lévesque is connected to the Montreal underground city and via this to the underground station Bonaventure .
