action

Cop Hughes is shot while working undercover in a drug scene in Atlanta and dies a little later. His four colleagues, Kietel, Chase, Tibbs and Martinez, decide to kill 20 criminals from the Atlanta underworld through vigilante justice. According to the hierarchy, they start with “smaller fish” in order to work their way up to the top. The aim is to put an end to crime and thus to avenge their deceased colleagues.

They begin with the murder of the police officer killer. They also kill some of the leading employees of the underworld boss Sol. In return, he hires a contract killer to track down and eliminate the perpetrators.

Prosecutor Pendelton quotes the head of department because the police have not yet had any success in investigating these murders. The four policemen decide to put the murders on another criminal by committing another murder and laying false leads. Pendelton suspiciously announces an internal investigation into the department. The next day, Pendelton is found shot dead in his office. The department head becomes skeptical and suspects his police officers. But they have nothing to do with the murder.

When the money is handed over between criminals, they strike again at night. However, Tibbs is murdered by Sol's contract killer, Kietel kidnapped by him and killed with a chainsaw. Chase takes the suitcase with almost $ 300,000 and, together with Martinez, removes the body of Tibbs.

A little later, Chase finds Martinez hanged. He finds a suicide note that he was no longer up to the cause. There's only Chase left, and two murders are pending. He makes his way to Sol, but is caught by his hit man. Chase offers him double payment as Sol's, exactly the $ 300,000 he looted. The hit man goes to Sol and demands more money. After he denies, Sol is killed by him. The hit man drives away with the money and the car from Chase, who has however deposited a corpse in the trunk. He is shot dead during a police check. This is the 20th murder.

criticism

“The story of the film is basically not bad, even if you can't expect a deep background at this point. Nonetheless, the story is fitting and can also convince with its characters. The implementation unfortunately lags a bit behind expectations, a lot of potential has been wasted here, which can be explained by the not exactly lavish budget. However, the German dubbing, which is more suitable for listening away, is even worse. The film turns out to be successful. So if you are a little into brutal thrillers, this publication is recommended, as a trip to the video store is definitely an option. On the other hand, I would advise everyone else to stay away from it if you are not totally fascinated by the story, the implementation is just a bit too cheap and the synchronization too bad - a shame! “It's one of those rare low-budget hip-hop gangster films in which police officers play a central role. Vigilante cops, better said. It's a bit like "Dirty Harry 2 - Callahan", only that there are only killer heads here, and no Dirty Harry to slap their fingers. Which doesn't make things look more unrealistic. Atmospheric, gloomy, ambitiously devised and played convincingly. The limited conditions do not allow big action jumps, but suspense, types and surprising twists are provided. "
