The performance of Schiller's Wilhelm Tell , staged by Samuel Schwarz in the St. Gallen City Theater in autumn 2006, aroused great outrage. Schwarz let Tell, whom he says he regards as a “negative person” on Swiss television, appear in the form of Friedrich Leibacher , who ran amok in Zug. The fact that the premiere took place only two days after the 5th anniversary of the Zug attack , in which 15 people were killed, was found particularly strange .

400asa continued the confrontation with terrorism and polarizing personalities in 2011 in a production by Marlene Streeruwitz's Roman Distance at the Schauspielhaus Wien . At Der Sender " 400asa played with the means of the musical. Since 2007, the use of public spaces and nature has become more and more important for 400asa.

The directors are Samuel Schwarz and Julian M. Grünthal , Meret Hottinger , but also guests such as Ed Hauswirth from the Grazer Truppe Theater im Bahnhof or the musician Ted Gaier . Working with young authors is important to 400asa. 400asa worked with the playwright Lukas Bärfuss , the poet Raphael Urweider , but also with authors such as Tim Zulauf , Sabine Wen-Ching Wang , Jana Burbach and the German-Lebanese author Claudia Basrawi .

Since 2010, the group has been concentrating more on projects with a transmedia approach. The major transmediale project Der Polder has been in existence since 2012 and had three manifestations in 2013 in Bern , Sils Maria and Zurich . In order to be able to appear more covertly, the group is sometimes called stadttheater.tv. A branch of 400asa has existed in Berlin since 2009 . It was - together with Ted Gaier and Claudia Basrawi the group 400asa Section North developed. The productions Der Sumpf and Flow were created under this new label, which focuses in particular on city performances and cooperation with Berlin authors and musicians.

«Because neither the radio nor the theater landscape offer any real challenges, the most important theaters in Germany have been used and the city of Zurich doesn't want a good theater either (a while ago, Carp / Marthaler at the Zurich Schauspielhaus has one of the best Teams chased out of the city) ”, so 400asa, the group is expanding its field of activity and into new areas as part of the series expeditions ,“ in order to break the narrow framework of conventional (including free) theater operations and open up new audience segments ”. In the laboratory project The Last Chance , 400asa dealt with Swiss filmmaking.

For this purpose, 400asa broke up as a theater group in 2008 and re-established itself as a film production company. With her first feature film Mary & Johnny - an adaptation of Ödön von Horváth's play Kasimir und Karoline , 400asa won the Bern Film Prize in 2012; the film was also shown at the Hof International Film Festival and received an honorable mention at the Max Ophüls Prize film festival . 400asa has been developing the transmediale project Der Polder since 2012 , which consists of Alternate Reality Games in Swiss and German urban areas.
