4x4, the women's choir of the Heidelberg University of Education of the PH Heidelberg was founded in 2004 by Heike Kiefner-Jesatko. In the ensemble , 16 to 20 student teachers from the university sing works from the 19th to the 21st century. In addition to working on romantic literature , the choir also brings world premieres to the stage, most recently “Dona nobis pacem” (2015) for female choir and organ and “Lobt him Sonne und Mond” (2016), a motet on Psalm 148. The Mannheim composer Johannes Matthias Michel dedicated the sacred pieces to the choir.

Choir direction

Heike Kiefner-Jesatko studied school music, history and conducting. She has been an academic senior councilor at the PH Heidelberg since 2001 . Since 2006 she has headed the Konkordien-Kantorei in Mannheim.
