West Street Building (also known as 90 West Street ) is a skyscraper in New York City . The building in Lower Manhattan was planned by the architect Cass Gilbert and completed in 1907.

90 West Street has 23 stories and is 99 feet high. The U-shaped building, which is raised on a steel frame, has a three-story white base and goes up over a white terracotta facade to a six-story, neo-Gothic ornamented tower that ends in a mansard roof .

In 1998, the West Street Building was declared a Landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. Extensive renovation work was approved in 2000, but it caught fire and was badly damaged in 2001 during the September 11th terrorist attack on the neighboring World Trade Center . After its renovation in 2006, it reopened as an apartment building.
