The A-Junior Westphalia league is the highest German class for U-19 - football teams in the field of soccer and track and field Westfalen (FLVW).
The champions of the Westfalenliga, which consists of twelve participants, will be promoted to the West Season of the A-Junioren-Bundesliga after the end of the season . The team in last place is relegated. Below the Westfalenliga there are two seasons of the Landesliga .
The then Verbandsliga Westfalen was first played in the 1964/65 season and was won by VfL Bochum . The record winner is Borussia Dortmund with eleven titles, followed by FC Schalke 04 with eight championships.
