history

In 1919 the SC 1919 Stadtlohn was founded . A year later, the game club DJK 1920 Stadtlohn was founded. Both clubs were forced to merge in 1933 under the name TuS Stadtlohn , which was renamed SuS 1945 Stadtlohn on July 19, 1945 and has had its current name since 1947. The former game club DJK 1920 founded an independent club in 1952 with the DJK Stadtlohn .

In 1964, the SuS rose to the state league and was runner-up straight away. Twenty years later, the team made the leap into the then fourth-class association league . In 1994, the Stadtlohner rose to the Oberliga Westfalen. The team benefited from an increased promotion due to the introduction of the Regionalliga West / Südwest . After an eighth place in the first league season followed in the 1995/96 season with fifth place, the best placement of the Stadtlohner Oberliga era. In the following years the Stadtlohner regularly reached positions in the middle of the table before the team finished the 2003/04 season as penultimate and had to relegate.

The direct resurgence was missed, and for the next ten years the SuS Stadtlohn played in the sixth-class Westfalenliga . On July 1, 2012, Alfred Nijhuis was the new coach of the first team, which he led to the championship and promotion to the Oberliga Westfalen in the 2013/14 season. Three years later, he was relegated to the Westphalia League, where the team again fought against relegation. However, three game days before the end of the 2017/18 season, the club's management announced their voluntary withdrawal to the national league. The team then rose as the penultimate athletic and was then passed down in the 2018/19 national league season.
