The Weser-Ems watershed is in the immediate vicinity, the source of a tributary of the Hessel , which is part of the Ems river system , is only 450 m away.

The brook first flows in a northerly direction through Borgholzhausen, then turns east, flows past the moated Brincke castle , turns north again and reaches the border to the Meller district of Neuenkirchen and thus to Lower Saxony about 700 m further on , which it takes around more 400 m forms.

As a result he is in the Neuenkirchen district of Küingdorf Mühlbach for the Kleine Mühle , the Overkämper Mühle and the Neue Mühle . At the moated castle Sondermühlen , whose moat is fed by the Violenbach, it turns again briefly to the east and then continues to flow in a northerly direction.

Shortly after crossing under the A 30 motorway in the immediate vicinity of the Grönegau service area and the Melle-Grönegau airfield , the brook flows into the Else on the right.
