Arayan Veettil Rakesh Babu (born March 20, 1990 in Kozhikode , Kerala ) is an Indian triple jumper .

Career

Rakesh Babu gained his first international experience at the Commonwealth Youth Games 2008 in Pune , where he finished seventh with 14.84 m. The following year he took part in the Indoor Asian Games in Hanoi and reached ninth place with 14.91 m. In 2015 he finished eighth at the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea, with 15.64 m. In 2018 he was nominated for the Commonwealth Games 2018 in the Australian Gold Coast , where he was eliminated from the qualification with a width of 15.98 m. At the end of August he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and finished sixth there with 16.40 m.
