A13 road ( English for road A13 ) is a trunk road in England . It begins in London with the Commercial Road in the East End , leads east through the capital of the United Kingdom , crosses at the junction Junction 30 the London orbital motorway M25 motorway and continues approximately parallel to the north shore of Themseästuars through southern Essex at Basildon past . Then the road narrows to two strips, leads to Southend-on-Sea and ends in Shoeburyness at the mouth of the Thames in the North Sea .
Up to the junction with the A130 road at Thundersley, the road is designated as a primary route and has at least four lanes.
There is no ferry connection from Southend-on-Sea to the continent.
