The A33 road ( English for road A33 ) is a total of 89 km long, partly replaced by the M3 motorway , only on the sections from Reading to Basingstoke and in the final section in Southampton as the primary route in England, the northern section from Reading to Basingstoke leads. The second section begins at Popham around 11 km southwest of Basingstoke at the transition from the A30 road to the A303 road and follows the route of the old Roman road from there on the M3 motorway to the outskirts of Winchester . The short third section begins at the junction of the M3 with the M27 motorway , leads from there to the south, finally bends to the northwest and ends at the A35 road . Only the section from Reading to the border of the county of Hampshire is developed with four lanes.
