course
At the south end, the A975 leaves the A90 ( Edinburgh - Fraserburgh ) around six kilometers north of Balmedie . While the A90 runs further from the coast in a north-easterly direction, the A975 connects the coastal towns to the road network. After about four kilometers, it reaches the village of Newburgh and there first crosses the Foveran Burn and then the Ythan . Following two kilometers along the north bank of the Ythan, the road runs northeast and finally reaches Cruden Bay , where it crosses the Water of Cruden on the listed Bridge over Water of Cruden . About one kilometer northwest of the scattered settlement Bullers of Buchan and 500 south of Longhaven , the A975 joins the A90 again.
