The A982 road is an A-road in Scotland . It connects the city center of Peterhead in Aberdeenshire to the A90 trunk road , which runs in a wide arc around the city.
course
At its southern end, the A982 branches off from the A90 ( Perth - Fraserburgh ) at a roundabout . Running in a north-easterly direction, it leads through the southern districts of Peterhead along the shores of Peterhead Bay . In the city center, the A950 ( New Pitsligo –Peterhead) joins a roundabout. Beyond the roundabout, the A982, previously known as South Road , is called King Street and is one of the city's main thoroughfares. After about 400 m it bends in a north-westerly direction at a junction and is first listed as Queen Street , then as Balmoor Terrace . Passing the Balmoor football stadium , it leaves the inner city area and runs as North Road along the south bank of the Ugie through the northern parts of the city. At the northern edge of Peterhead, the A982 joins the A90 again after a total distance of 5.5 km.
Surroundings
