course
The road branches off the A982 at a roundabout in central Peterhead . She leaves the city in a westerly direction and crosses the A90 ( Edinburgh - Fraserburgh ). The A950 continues west through the sparsely populated regions of Aberdeenshire. It connects various hamlets and individual farms to the road network, including the village of Longside . Beyond Longside, the road crosses South Ugie Water , a source of the Ugie River .
The A950 finally reaches Mintlaw , where the A952 ( Toll of Birness - Cortes ) crosses. Beyond Mintlaw, the A950 turns gradually to the northwest. It crosses the A981 ( Fraserburgh - New Deer ) and forms the main street of the village of New Pitsligo . About 1.5 km beyond the village, the A950 joins the A98 (Fraserburgh– Fochabers ) after a total length of 31.5 km .
