AB Pictoris ( AB Pic for short ) is a variable star in the painter constellation . It is around 150 light years away and a member of the Tucana Horologium Association .

In 2003 a companion was discovered whose mass, around 13 times the mass of Jupiter, lies in the border area between the planet and the brown dwarf ; it is about 260  AU from AB Pictoris.
