AC4 was a Swedish hardcore punk band from Umeå .

Band history

Dennis Lyxzén ( Refused , The (International) Noise Conspiracy ) founded AC4 together with David Sandström (also Refused), Jens Nordén and Karl Backman (both at The Vectors). The band name is derived from the postal code of the Swedish province of Västerbotten . In 2008 a song by the group was released on YouTube and ended up in a playlist of the metal magazine Kerrang! .

In 2009 the self-titled debut album was released on Ny Vag, the label of Dennis Lyxzén. In 2010 a split 7 '' followed with Surprise Sex Attack and the 7 '' Umeå Hardcore . In the same year the band toured Europe. In May 2012 it was announced that David Sandström had been replaced by Christoffer Röstlund Jonsson and that they were in Parasit Studio, Mullsjö , to record a new album.

In 2013 the band broke up.

Music genre

AC4 play a hardcore punk style that is heavily based on American bands of the 1980s and is accordingly presented quickly and without major musical experiments. In contrast to the music of Lyxzéns and Sandström's reunified band Refused, this is deliberately avoided.
