Karl Backman

Karl Backman (born October 27, 1970 in Umeå ) is a Swedish musician , composer and artist . He was a guitarist of the famous hardcore - band AC4 .

Backman began his musical career in 1982 in a squat as a guitarist with the punk band Boredom Brothers . The band broke up in 1984.

Back in an occupied house, he founded the hardcore punk band The Vectors in 1990 with his brother Pelle Backman (bass guitar) and Jens Nordén (drums) . The band received death threats from Christian life rights groups in the USA from 2000 onwards because of their lyrics in the song Rape the Pope .

In 2008 Backman founded AC4 together with Nordén and ex- Refused members Dennis Lyxzén and David Sandström.

Backman founded the band The T-55’s in the summer of 2013 .

In the early 1980s, Backman began designing various leaflets for punk concerts. He has also designed record covers.

Backman visited the fenced exclusion zone in 2010 , which was set up within a radius of 30 kilometers around the evacuated cities of Chernobyl and Pripyat after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 and photographed these places.

In 2011 he had a painting exhibition at the Museum of Porn in Art in Zurich . For this picture series he worked with the porn actresses Layla Rivera , Ashley Blue , Satine Phoenix , Summer Luv , Barbii Bucxxx and May Ling Su .
