ADX is a French speed and thrash metal band from Paris that was founded in 1982, disbanded in 1992 and reunited in 2006.
history
The band was formed in 1982. After releasing a few demos, the band reached a deal with Devil's Records in 1985, which resulted in their debut album Exécution being released that same year. The second album followed in 1986 under the name La terreur with Sydney Productions . In August 1987, the recordings for the third album, Supremacy, followed . This was followed by the recording of the first live album, which was released in 1988 under the name Exécution publique . This was followed by other appearances together with bands like Sacred Reich , Agressor , Coroner , Risk and Rage . The band then signed a contract with Noise Records and released the first English-language album Weird Visions in 1991. However, since the sales figures were not satisfactory, the contract with Noise Records broke up again, so that the band broke up in 1992.
In 1998, Exécution was released on CD . To celebrate the release, the band played a concert in Paris. In addition, the new album Résurrection was recorded, with founding member Betov was not represented on the album. In February 2006 the band finally got back together and now consisted of guitarist Pascal Betov, drummer Didier “Dog” Bouchard, bassist Claude “KLOD” Thill, singer Phil Grelaud and guitarist Bernard Y. Queruel. After a reunification tour across France, work began on a new album. Division blindée was released in May 2008 on Bernett Records . The next two albums followed in 2010 and 2011 with Terreurs and Immortel .
style
The band plays classic 1980s thrash and speed metal and has been compared to bands like Exodus and old Metallica .
