AMC-21 , is a Satellite of SES Americom , a subsidiary of SES Global .
AMC-21 was launched on August 14, 2008 together with the Superbird 7 television satellite with an Ariane 5 rocket from the Center Spatial Guyanais spaceport in Kourou . The satellite was built by Thales Alenia Space and Orbital Sciences and is intended to provide television programming for end users throughout the United States and additional areas in Canada and Mexico, as well as territorial enclaves such as Hawaii and Alaska in particular. In addition, it should take over occasional transmissions on behalf of other operators and connect company networks.
