APB: All Points Bulletin (since 2014 APB Reloaded or APBR ) is an online game in the third-person shooter genre and available for the Microsoft Windows operating system . The game has been available as free-to-play in the Xbox One Store since May 31, 2016 . The Xbox One version contains the new graphics engine for the first time, while PC and PlayStation 4 versions are still a long time coming.

development

The game was developed by Realtime Worlds and distributed from June 6, 2010 via Electronic Arts as a paid online game with monthly fees. Since it was not possible to acquire a sufficient number of subscribers, the operation was stopped after a few months. Realtime Worlds was bought by K2 Network in November 2010. The K2 subsidiary Reloaded Productions then announced a re-release of the game under the title APB: Reloaded and with a free-to-play model for 2011. However, numerous paid offers already existed, which means that the game had effectively already started business operations. Since Aug. 26, 2014 APBR has also been available free of charge via ARCgames.com and is constantly being further developed.

Gameplay

The player can choose between two urban factions: Enforcer (German: "Vollstrecker") or criminals , who each provide different vehicles and weapons. After the tutorial it is possible to choose between two different areas in which missions have to be done for different organizations. This enables the player to unlock further contacts, weapons and equipment. There are up to 100 players in the various district instances who act as fellow players or opponents. A player or a group of players is given a specific task, for example “Get a suitcase” or “Steal a car”, while the group of the other faction is given the task of preventing this.

The specialty of APB is the so far unique free modification of characters, clothes, vehicles, spray logos and music themes.

APB: Reloaded

Shortly after APB: Reloaded appeared on the Steam gaming platform , the game's official website, Gamersfirst , reached over 3 million player registrations. There, the game quickly took the top spots in the “Free Games” area.

For the official APB: Reloaded release there was an update called Fight Club , which includes two new maps. The design of The Beacon map is based on the Financial District . This is a construction site for a high-rise building that extends over several floors. The Beacon was later abolished and replaced by Abington Towers , an abandoned madhouse. Baylan Shipping is strongly reminiscent of the docks waterfront area . For the most part, shipping containers are distributed on the map, which you can climb onto to get to elevated and therefore strategically favorable positions.

Districts

The districts are basically so-called maps , of which there are five different ones. The Financial District is the colorful city center that is slightly reminiscent of New York. Then there is the Waterfront District, which is an affluent port city. This is followed by the Fight Club, which consists of two small districts: Baylan Shipping and Abington Towers . Enforcers fight against criminals in Team Deathmatch for money and joker tickets . There is also the peaceful social district in which you can customize your character and property, i.e. vehicles, clothing, etc. There is also the marketplace, an auction platform where you can buy items from other players or sell your own. In this district there are no missions, weapons or the like, here you only trade, chat and individualize your character.

Game mode

There are two new competition modes: the Team Death Match and the Capture Points Match . In the Team Death Match , the respective factions fight each other. By killing or arresting the opponents, the teams get points until one side reaches 100 points and wins. In the Capture Points Match , three large or five small circles are created ( spawned ) that must be captured and held. The team that reaches 600 points first wins. Killings and arrests do not affect the score.

Rewards

In the Fight Club the player can earn money and so-called "Joker Tickets", but it is not possible there to level his contacts . Joker tickets can be redeemed in the Social District to buy exclusive vehicles, weapons, clothing, etc.

Armas Marketplace

The Armas Marketplace is an item shop integrated in the game, in which so-called premium items can be purchased. Recurring offers are intended to encourage customers to buy a weapon. You can also buy a premium account there for a certain period of time, which then gives you a bonus on all rewards and equips your vehicles and items of clothing with up to 50 stickers. In addition, you get a discount of 20% on all articles in the Armas marketplace, as well as on other premium accounts.
