A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night is the seventh studio album by US singer Harry Nilsson . It was released in June 1973 under the label RCA Victor and was produced by ex- Beatles press spokesman Derek Taylor . The album was arranged by Frank Sinatra's former arranger Gordon Jenkins . Nilsson put in a full orchestra nearly a decade before many other performers. Since Nilsson did not want to miss his effects arsenal, there was no live performance for this album. The cover was recorded in George Harrison's mansion.

background

A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night is based on American standard tracks, which were produced a decade before the renewed popularity of this music style. While the album had only moderate success in the charts, it is often viewed as the best example of Harry Nilsson's virtuoso singing.
