Make Believe is an American emo band from Chicago , Illinois .
history
Make Believe is actually the 2003 tour version of Joan of Arc , consisting of Tim Kinsella, his cousin Nate Kinsella, Sam Zurick and Bobby Burg. After three months on tour, the band was so well established that the band members spontaneously decided after the tour to write new songs together and record them in a more aggressive style than Joan of Arc's. In order to clarify this claim of reorientation and a new beginning and to differentiate itself from the previous project Joan of Arc, the group gave itself the new name Make Believe and played two long players over the course of time. In contrast to Joan of Arc, Make Believe's productions do not appear on Polyvinyl Records , but on Flameshovel Records .
