Sam back
Sam Zurick (born November 13, 1975 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American emo - indie rock musician who participates in numerous band projects, but also pursues his own solo projects.
Career
As a teenager, Sam Zurick was already a member of Cap'n Jazz , an emo band from which some later music greats of the scene emerged, such as B. the brothers Tim Kinsella and Mike Kinsella , Davey von Bohlen and Victor Villarreal . After Cap'n Jazz broke up in 1995, Sam Zurick founded the band Joan of Arc together with Jeremy Boylek, Erik Bocek, Tim and Mike Kinsella , which continues to release albums with a changing line-up.
In 1999 Sam Zurick left Joan of Arc to form the instrumental band Ghosts and Vodka with Victor Villarreal, Erik Bocek and Scott Shellhammer . In 2001 Tim and Mike Kinsella tried to revive the original Cap'n Jazz formation under the new band name Owls . Villarreal and Zurick then left Ghosts and Vodka and joined Owls. In 2001 a long player was released. After the breakup of this formation in 2002, Zurick recorded an album with numerous other musicians under the name Friend / Enemy .
In 2002 and 2003 Sam Zurick played again with two Joan of Arc albums and released a solo album. In 2003 Zurick went on tour with Tim Kinsella, Bobby Burg and Nate Kinsella as Joan of Arc in 2003. After the tour ended it was decided to record new song material together with a more aggressive style. In order to distinguish this company from Joan of Arc, it was given its own name, Make Believe , under which albums are repeatedly released to this day. Zurick was also involved in the Chicago super band Everyoned . Since 2004 he has played regularly with Love of Everything , Bobby Burg's band. In 2007, Zurick released another solo album.
