Friend / Enemy was an American emo formation from Chicago , Illinois .
Band history
Friend / Enemy was founded in 2001 as another project by Tim Kinsella, the former front man of Cap'n Jazz and current leader of Joan of Arc and Make Believe . The core of the band consisted of Tim Kinsella from Todd Mattei, also a member of Joan of Arc, and Jim Becker from Califone .
The first and so far only release was 10 Songs from 2002, which was recorded in the Slabb Studios in Chicago and distributed by Perishable Records . Some of the city's leading indie musicians made significant contributions to this album. E.g. vocals by Caryn Culp ( Plastic Crime Wave ), keyboard by Andy Lansagan ( The 90 Day Men ), bass by Nick Macri ( Euphone , Sunny Day Real Estate ), piano by Azita Youssefi ( Bride of No No ) and bass by Sam Zurick ( Joan of Arc and Owls ).
