Reviews

“The film, shot in black and white, shows unexpected impressions of Cuba in the year 49 after the revolution: a less motivated saleswoman in a shop, fans that don't work due to a power failure, seniors dancing, the santera performing a religious ritual on the beach. The paralysis of life manifests itself in the images that are accompanied by the atmospheric tones. Despite censorship and state control, the director succeeded in making clear the absence of utopia in the tropical paradise and in capturing the oppressive surroundings. The title of the film comes from a song by the Beatles, because above all John Lennon was honored with a monument in Havana. "
