Aaron Shenk Kreider (born June 26, 1863 in Lebanon County , Pennsylvania , †  May 19, 1929 in Annville , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . Between 1913 and 1923 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Aaron Kreider attended his homeland public schools and Lebanon Valley College in Annville. In 1880 he graduated from Allentown Business College . That same year he moved to Fulton , Missouri , where he worked first in agriculture and then as a shop clerk. In 1884 he returned to Pennsylvania, where he worked in trade in Campbelltown and Roseland . In 1886 he founded the town of Lawn . At that time he was also involved in agriculture, grain and coal. In 1893 he moved to Palmyra and then to Annville. There he worked in the shoemaking industry and in the banking industry. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . From 1909 to 1912 he was a member and chairman of the Annville Borough Council. In 1910 he took part as a delegate to the regional Republican Congress in Pennsylvania. From 1913 to 1916, during his time as a congressman, he was President of the Federation of Shoemakers.

In the 1912 congressional election , Kreider was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 18th  constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Marlin Edgar Olmsted on March 4, 1913 . After four re-elections, he was able to complete five legislative terms in Congress by March 3, 1923 . From 1919 he was chairman of the Ministry of Interior's Expenditure Control Committee. The First World War fell during his time as a congressman . In addition, the 16th , 17th , 18th and 19th amendments were ratified.

In 1922, Aaron Kreider was not re-elected. After his tenure in the US House of Representatives, he continued his previous activities. He also became Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Lebanon Valley College in Annville. He also died in this city on May 19, 1929.
