Abd-ar-Razzagh Samarghandi

Abd-ar-Razzagh Samarghandi ( Persian السمرقندي عبدالرزاق, DMG ʿAbd-ar-Razzāq as-Samarqandī ; born November 7, 1413 in Herat ; died July / August 1482 ), also Abdur Razzaq Samarqandi or Abd al Razzak Samarkandi , was a Persian historian .

Abd-ar-Razzagh spent most of his life in Samarkand , but also lived in India (1441–1444) and Gilan (1446). In 1463 he became Sheikh of Herat. His most famous work is the chronicle Maṭlaʿ as-saʿdain wa-maǧmaʿ al-baḥrain (مطلع السعدين ومجمع البحرين, 'Rise of the two lucky stars and the confluence of the two seas'), written between 1467 and 1471, which records the history of the Mongols , Timur and the Timurids between 1304 and 1471.
