Abdelkader Mohamed Ghezzal ( Arabic عبد القادر غزال, DMG ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Ġazzāl ; * December 5, 1984 in Décines-Charpieu , France ) is a former Algerian soccer player who was also a French citizen due to his birth in France.
Career
society
Abdelkader Ghezzal began his career in 2004 with the lower class French amateur club AS Saint-Priest , where he played a season in the fifth division as an attacker. In the summer of 2005 he transferred to Italy for FC Crotone in Serie B . In the first season at Crotone he came on only six missions in which he remained without a goal. Therefore, the club awarded him to the lower-class clubs AS Biellese and AC Pro Sesto , where he found his form. For the 2007/08 season Ghezzal returned to Crotone and helped the club with 20 goals in 33 games to return to Serie B. In the summer of 2008 he was finally bought by Serie A club AC Siena . In his first season in Siena, he scored five goals in 37 games and managed to stay in Serie A with the club.
National team
Ghezzal made his debut for the Algerian national team on November 18, 2008 in a friendly against Mali , which was played in the French city of Rouen and ended 1-1. Ghezzal scored his first international goal on February 11, 2009 in a friendly against Benin , which Algeria won 2-1.
At the Africa Cup of Nations 2010 he played in all six Algerian games, but could not score a goal.
