Abdelkarim Semmar

Abdelkarim Semmar ( Arabic عبد الكريم السمار; * in Rabat ; † November 1, 2009 in Riyadh ) was a Moroccan diplomat .

Career

In 1961 he received a Bachelor of Philosophy and Social Science degree from the University of Alexandria . He was a lecturer at the administrative school in Rabat. He then worked for the Société nationale de radiodiffusion et de télévision . From 1975 to 1978 he was Counselor in Abidjan . From 1978 to 1979 he was Counselor in Cairo . From 1979 to 1981 he was chargé d'affaires in Rawalpindi . From 1981 to 1983 he was consul in Bobigny (France). From 1983 to 1986 he had the exequatur as Consul General in Paris .

From 1986 to 1992 he was ambassador to Abu Dhabi ( United Arab Emirates ).

From 1993 to 1996 he was ambassador to Algiers .

From 1997 he was ambassador to Riyadh , where he died in hospital at the age of 72 in office.
