Abdelmoumene Djabou ( Arabic عبد المؤمن جابو, DMG ʿAbd al-Muʾmin Ǧābū ; Born January 31, 1987 in Sétif ) is an Algerian football player . He is under contract with Club Africain Tunis and is active for the Algerian national team . He plays principally as a playmaker and on the offensive flanks.

Career

Club career

Djabou began his footballing career at ES Setif , for which he came to league appearances for the first time in the 2004/05 season. After he was loaned to MC El Eulma in the 2006/07 season, he was loaned to FC Sion in September 2008 . Due to licensing problems, however, he did not play in the league there, which is why he returned to Sétif a month later . In January 2009 he switched to USM El Harrach on loan to Algiers , where he finally achieved his sporting breakthrough.

After his return in the summer of 2010, Djabou became a leading player at ES Sétif and won the Algerian championship and cup with the club in the 2011/12 season. In the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons he was voted the best player in the Algerian league.

In July 2012 he moved to Tunisia to Club Africain Tunis , where he signed a contract until June 2015.

National team

In September 2010 Djabou was appointed to the squad of the Algerian national team for the first time . He finally made his debut on November 17, 2010 in a friendly against Luxembourg . As a result, he had to cancel some international trips due to injury, which is why he did not return to an international match until March 26, 2013 in the World Cup qualifier against Benin . He scored his first international goal on August 14, 2013 in a friendly against Guinea . At the 2014 World Cup in Brazil , Djabou scored the 3-0 in the group game against South Korea (final score 4-2) and the 1-2 tie in the round of 16 against Germany .

Style of play

Djabou is considered a fast, technically well-versed player. Due to his two-footed position, he can be used on the right and left flanks and also as a playmaker. Due to his height of 1.64 meters and his playful similarity, he is often referred to by the media as the "Algerian Messi ".
