Abdul Kader Keïta (born August 6, 1981 in Abidjan ) is a former Ivorian football player .

Club career

Keïta played in his youth in various clubs in his homeland, e.g. B. at Africa Sports National Abidjan. With the capital club he also won the national championship and the cup winners' cup of Africa in 1999. In 2000, the right winger moved abroad to Tunisia to Étoile Sportive du Sahel from Sousse . After a year he went to the Persian Gulf, first for another year at Al Ain Club in the United Arab Emirates and then to Qatar to the capital club al-Sadd Sport Club , where he stayed for three years. During this time he won a championship and twice the Qatar Cup.

In 2005 he moved to Europe to the top French club OSC Lille , where he was a regular by storm. In the first year he was third in the championship with the club and played several times in the Champions League. For the 2007/2008 season, he moved in a package with teammate Mathieu Bodmer for a total of 22.5 million euros to the champions Olympique Lyon .

Keita moved to Galatasaray Istanbul for the 2009/10 season for € 8.5 million , where he signed a three-year contract. He scored in his first competitive game for Galatasaray in the UEFA Europa League qualifier against Maccabi Netanja in the fifth minute. A further 500,000 euros are to be paid to Olympique Lyon through contractual clauses .

Before the start of the 2010/11 season, Abdul Kader Keïta moved back to al-Sadd Sport Club . Galatasaray Istanbul received a transfer fee of 8.15 million euros. Most recently, in 2014/2015 he had short guest appearances in Hungary with Budapest Honvéd FC and with Persib Bandung in Indonesia.

National team

Keïta was also a player in the Ivorian national team since 2000 . With the national team he took part in the 2006 and 2010 World Championships and was also in his country's squad at the 2002, 2008, 2010 and 2012 African Championships.
