Gérard Amoukou Gnanhouan (born February 12, 1979 in Adzopé ) is an Ivorian football goalkeeper .

Gnanhouan came to France early and also has French citizenship . From 1998 he was a substitute goalkeeper for the second division team EA Guingamp . After promotion to Ligue 1 , he was number 1 in goal a total of 13 times in 2001/02. Then he moved to FC Sochaux . After a transition year, he was also regularly used there and, in addition to 17 league games, also played four international appearances for the club.

In the 2004/05 season, however, he had to step back into the second line, which is why he left Sochaux and moved to the second division Montpellier HSC .

Gérard Gnanhouan played internationally for France in his youth, but then decided for the Ivorian national football team . In 2003, during his most successful time at Sochaux, he was also in goal five times for his country of birth. In the following years he was only number 2 or 3. At the 2006 World Cup in Germany, he was number 2 in the Ivory Coast squad , but was not used.
