Abdulah Šarčević

Abdulah Šarčević (born May 27, 1929 in Stari Majdan , Sanski Most municipality , Yugoslavia , today Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is professor emeritus of philosophy at the University of Sarajevo .

Life

Abdulah Šarčević studied philosophy at the University of Zagreb from 1948–1952 . From 1954 he taught as a lecturer at the University of Skopje , from 1959 at the University of Sarajevo . In 1967 he received his doctorate there with a dissertation on Karl Jaspers and became professor of philosophy. He was a member of the editorial board of Praxis magazine .

He became a corresponding member in 1981 and a full member in 1990 of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia-Herzegovina .
