Abdulxashim Mutalov

Abdulxashim Mutalovich Mutalov ( Russian Абдулхашим Муталович Муталов Abdulchaschim Mutalowitsch Mutalow , born 1947 in Telyau near Ohangaron , Tashkent Oblast , Uzbek SSR , Soviet Union ) is an Uzbek politician .

Professional career

Abdulxashim Mutalov began his working life in 1965 in a large bakery in Tashkent . After his military service, he continued his work in various bakeries in managerial positions. In 1976 he graduated from the Institute for Food Economics. From 1979 to 1986 he was the director of a large bakery in his homeland, Ohangaron.

Political activity

Mutalov's political career began abruptly in 1986 when he was appointed Deputy Minister of Bakery Economy of the Uzbek SSR. Within a year he then moved to the ministerial office. In 1991 he became Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Uzbek SSR and on January 13, 1992, after the collapse of the Soviet Union , Prime Minister of the now independent Republic of Uzbekistan . In 1995 Mutalov was replaced by Oʻtkir Sultonov .

Mutalov is said to have made his rise to head of government less due to his abilities or his own political line than to his good relations with President Islom Karimov and his unconditional loyalty to him.
