The AG Oberhohndorf-Reinsdorfer Kohlenisenbahn was a railway company in Saxony . She was the owner of the Reinsdorfer industrial railway in the Zwickau coal field . In 1939 the company was dissolved.

history

In order to develop the coal deposits east of the Zwickauer Mulde , the Zwickau-Oberhohndorfer Steinkohlenbauverein was formed in 1854 , which opened its first mine in 1857 with the Wilhelmschacht. Two other mining companies sank another three shafts between 1855 and 1859. The Oberhohndorf-Reinsdorfer Coal Railway was set up on May 10, 1858 to remove the coal mined there . In 1858 and 1859, the company built an industrial line that began at the Schedewitz transfer station and led to the shafts at Oberhohndorf and Reinsdorf . A total of 900,000 Reichsmark building capital was available, which was raised both from own funds and through a loan of 275,400 Reichsmarks.

On September 25, 1859, the first section of the coal railway went into operation. On January 3, 1860, the entire planned branch network was completed. The Royal Saxon State Railways took over operations at the company's expense.

In the following years the coal railway network was expanded considerably. After a few years, the railway reached its greatest operating length of 14.48 kilometers. Around 1875 there were branch tracks to a total of nine shafts on the Oberhohndorf and Reinsdorf corridors.

After the turn of the century, most of the shafts gradually closed and profitable operation was no longer possible. On December 31, 1939, the company dissolved. The tracks and vehicles were transferred to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , which from then on operated the route network as the Reinsdorfer Industriebahn.

Locomotives

The company had to operating opening two 1860 by Hartmann in Chemnitz supplied tank locomotives with the names UPPER HOHNDORF and PURE VILLAGE the type 1B N2T. In 1864 and 1874 two more locomotives of this type were purchased. With these four locomotives all traffic was handled up to the turn of the century.

Only in 1901 and 1910 were two more locomotives acquired. They corresponded to the types VT and I TV of the state railway.
