O'tkir To'xtamurodovich Sultonov ( Cyrillic Ўткир Тўхтамурадович Султонов; Russian Уткир Тухтамурадович Султанов , Utkir Tuchtamuradowitsch Sultanov ; * 14. July 1939 in Tashkent , Uzbek SSR ; † 28. November 2015 ) was dated 21 December 1995 to 11 December 2003 Prime Minister of Uzbekistan .

biography

Sultonov graduated from Tomsk Polytechnic University with a degree in electrical engineering in 1963 . From 1985 to 1991 he headed the research and production association “Vostok”, one of the largest companies in the Uzbek SSR. In March 1990 he was elected deputy of the Uzbek SSR of the 11th convocation. In 1991 he was the chairman of the State Committee on Foreign Trade and External Relations of Uzbekistan.

At the founding congress of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan in November 1991, Sultonov became a member of the Central Council.

He was dismissed by President Islom Karimov due to poor agricultural and labor market policies. His successor as Prime Minister was Shavkat Mirziyoyev .
