The weekday show Abendschau - The South is one of the regional magazines for the Abendschau on BR TV , which is broadcast live on BR TV Süd from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Until October 5, 2012, the magazine was entitled Schwaben & Altbayern aktuell and was renamed to Abendschau - The South as part of an evening show relaunch on October 8, 2012 in order to bring the show closer to the main show Abendschau . From 1994 the program was broadcast under the title Bayern live - The South .
Content and topics
The program Abendschau - The South broadcasts current reports from Bavaria, background information on current topics, stories and advice, especially from the southern administrative districts of Bavaria. Similar to the Sunday splitting show Schwaben & Altbayern on Bavarian TV South, the former name of the show reveals which regions of Bavaria are reported from. As in the evening show, the broadcast also includes live reports, in which the reporters present information, reports, discussions and background information live from institutions in Bavaria. At around 5:45 p.m. there is an article under the compact section , in which the most important reports of the day from Swabia , Lower Bavaria , Upper Bavaria and the Upper Palatinate are summarized. The current Bavarian weather is presented around 5:57 p.m. - mostly live outside in the open air. Immediately after the weather the program continues with the evening show (then again for all of Bavaria).
Moderators
The program is currently moderated weekly alternately by Annette Betz, Tom Meiler (since October 8, 2012) and Andrea Otto (since October 8, 2012). Until February 29, 2012, Renate Herzberg was also the presenter for Schwaben & Altbayern before she retired. In addition, Roman Roell moderated the regional magazine until October 1, 2012, before switching to the team of moderators for the main evening show . Anna Groß presented the program from October 2012 to April 2016. The weather is mostly presented by Kathrin Rohrmoser, Silvia Jester, Astrid Hofmann, Juliane Schönberger or Christian Kienast. Live reporters on site are up-to-date and available. a. Martin Breitkopf, Mathias Flasskamp, Anja Marks-Schilffahrt, Nicole Remann and Uschi Schmid.
More regional magazines for the evening show
In order to be able to report more strongly from the different regions of Bavaria, the Bavarian television introduced regional splitting on May 2, 1994 with the division of the evening show in Bavaria live - the north and Bavaria live - the south . Regional reports on Bavarian television were broadcast Monday through Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 6:42 p.m. Since 2007, the splitting into the regional magazines, which also contain the respective regional weather forecasts, has taken place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. While Abendschau - The South (or earlier Schwaben & Altbayern aktuell ) is being broadcast for BR Fernsehen Süd from the Abendschau studio in Munich , at the same time the Frankenschau is currently being broadcast for the north of Bavaria in the BR Fernsehen Nord splitting program from Studio Franken in Nuremberg sent.
