Schwaben & Altbayern is a regional program on BR Fernsehen Süd that has been broadcast on Sundays from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. since 1978.

Content and topics

Every Sunday BR television broadcasts this program for the south of Bavaria . For 45 minutes there is information, culture and entertainment from Swabia , Lower Bavaria , Upper Bavaria and the Upper Palatinate . In the past, Gudrun Riedl presented Schwaben & Altbayern , currently the program is moderated by Heike Götz and Eva Mayer alternately.

While the program Schwaben & Altbayern is being broadcast on BR Fernsehen Süd, the program Frankenschau is running simultaneously on BR Fernsehen Nord .

There is also a regional broadcast for the south of Bavaria on weekdays, the evening show - The South (until October 5, 2012 under the title Schwaben & Altbayern aktuell ).
