Abigail Thaw
Abigail Thaw (born October 1, 1965 in London ) is a British actress .
Career
Abigail Thaw spent a year in Italy after finishing school. She then studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. Thaw's career began in the theater, where she a. a. toured with the Royal Shakespeare Company . 2001 starred alongside Mark Rylance in the Shakespeare play Cymbeline at Shakespeare's Globe .
From 1990 she had engagements in various British television series, such as The Bill , Casuality , Vanity Fair, Inspector Barnaby or Agatha Christie's Poirot . Abigail's father, John Thaw , who was extremely popular in Great Britain, played the role of Inspector Morse in the award-winning British television series of the same name from 1987 to 2000 . In 2012, Abigail Thaw took on the role of editor Dorothea Frazil in the prequel series The Young Inspector Morse .

Abigail Thaw was born to Sally Alexander, an active feminist and professor at London's Goldsmiths College , and actor John Thaw . The parents divorced after four years, and Thaw married actress Sheila Hancock for a second time in 1971 . Abigail grew up with her mother and her partner Gareth Stedman Jones in the Pimlico district in a kind of commune, but always kept in close contact with her father and the two half-sisters from her father's second marriage. All three sisters became actresses.
She has been married to her long-term partner, British-Canadian Nigel Whitmey, who she met at drama school, since July 2015. The couple have two daughters.
